Position Summary:
The Phlebotomist provides expertise in blood draws and specimen preparation. Their ability to put patients at ease and obtain sufficient samples with minimal discomfort to patients across a wide demographic is critical to our commitment to high quality care for our patients and those of our partners.

The Plasma Center Specialist will operate under the direct supervision of the Center Manager and more generally under the Medical/Laboratory Director, and at times will take instruction from the Quality Assurance Manager and Physician Substitute on site. Job Description:
Pay Range: $18 - $23 per hour
SCOPE: Under minimal supervision, is responsible for the collecting and processing of specimens from patients. Follows quality assurance and safety policies and procedures. Assists with patient flow as needed. Properly identifies patient, draws blood samples and sends to laboratory for analysis. Maintains collection areas and equipment and performs record keeping duties. Works within clearly defined standard operating procedures and/or scientific methods and adheres to quality guidelines.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs phlebotomy and collects appropriate specimens from patients as ordered. Assures pre-authorizations and completes appropriate consent (ABN) prior to collection of limited coverage tests.
