Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have experience in internal medicine, geriatrics, urgent care, and phlebotomy services, providing exceptional patient service and support. This role is vital in ensuring that our patients receive the highest quality of care in a timely and efficient manner.
Duties
Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures.
Perform venipuncture and capillary blood draws for laboratory testing while ensuring patient comfort and specimen accuracy.
Process, label, and prepare specimens for transport to laboratory facilities.
Perform basic life support and emergency procedures as needed.
Administer medications and manage patient care under the supervision of a physician or nurse.
Document patient information accurately in electronic health record systems, including coding for billing purposes.
Prepare patients for examinations by taking vital signs, medical histories, and other relevant information.
Provide education to patients regarding their health conditions and treatment plans.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of examination rooms, phlebotomy stations, and medical equipment.
Support the healthcare team in managing patient flow within the clinic or facility.
Requirements
Certification as a Medical Assistant from an accredited program.
Phlebotomy experience required; certification in phlebotomy preferred.
Experience in internal medicine, geriatrics, or urgent care preferred.
Proficiency in venipuncture techniques and specimen handling procedures.
Proficiency in basic life support techniques.
Strong skills in patient service and communication.
Familiarity with medication administration protocols.
Ability to work effectively in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
Knowledge of medical coding systems is a plus.
Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
