Responsibilities

  • Collect blood samples from patients using venipuncture and other phlebotomy techniques, ensuring patient comfort and safety

  • Prepare and process specimens accurately for laboratory testing, adhering to aseptic techniques and laboratory protocols

  • Verify patient identities and maintain precise documentation of all specimen collection activities

  • Monitor vital signs and assess patient physiology as needed during specimen collection procedures

  • Maintain a clean, organized work environment by following infection control standards and laboratory procedures

  • Assist with patient care activities, providing excellent patient service and addressing questions or concerns professionally

  • Support laboratory staff by performing basic laboratory techniques and assisting with routine tasks as required

Requirements

  • Prior experience or training in laboratory procedures, venipuncture, or clinical laboratory work is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided for qualified candidates

  • Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and blood sampling techniques is highly desirable

  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) is required to ensure readiness for emergency situations

  • Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform physical tasks involved in specimen collection and transport

  • Strong attention to detail with excellent communication skills for patient interaction and documentation

  • Hospital experience or familiarity with healthcare environments is advantageous but not essential; a proactive attitude toward learning is key

  • Must demonstrate professionalism, reliability, and a commitment to patient safety and quality care
