Phlebotomist
Newark, NJ
Summary
As part of the medical team, the phlebotomist collects blood specimens for use by clinicians and/or other appropriate medical personnel for clinical analyses, evaluations, and/or diagnostic purposes.
Responsibilities And Duties
Draws and collects blood samples from patients
Verifies records
Prepares specimens for laboratory analysis
May conduct patient interviews
May record patient histories
May monitor vital signs
Assist with administrative/clerical duties as necessary
All other duties as assigned
Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program or comparable program.
Experience working in a physician office, clinic, or ambulatory health care center.
Must be CPR certified.
