Job Title: Phlebotomist I - Paterson
Job Description
The primary role of a Phlebotomist is to assist with various assigned duties, including troubleshooting, training, and recommending workflow improvements. The position requires proficiency in blood draws, specimen labeling, centrifuging, recording maintenance data, decontamination, and updating patient information.
Responsibilities
Perform blood draws and label specimens accurately.
Centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test orders.
Collect and store specimens following established procedures.
Explain venipuncture and other specimen collection processes clearly and courteously.
Demonstrate techniques using straight and butterfly needles.
Understand all physicians' orders and match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes.
Ensure all test requisitions or computer labels match scripts with 100% accuracy.
Package specimens for transport, storing samples at required temperatures.
Ensure compliance with OSHA and DEP regulations.
Attend annual department trainings.
Answer telephone inquiries and read laboratory results.
Essential Skills
Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state of employment.
Minimum of 6 months' experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
High School Diploma or GED.
1+ years of experience.
1+ years of pediatric experience
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with troubleshooting and workflow recommendations
Ability to update patient information.
Work Environment
The position is located at 680 Broadway, Unit B3, Paterson, NJ. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, 7 am to 3 pm, and every other Saturday, 7 am to 12 pm. The role does not require floating between different locations. The work setting is fast-paced, requiring a high level of attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols.

Pay And Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
