Position Summary
Sunrise Clinical Laboratory is seeking a reliable, professional, and detail-oriented Specimen Collector with Phlebotomy Certification to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for collecting, processing, and handling patient specimens while maintaining compliance with laboratory procedures, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
This position requires excellent patient interaction skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to perform specimen collections in a professional healthcare environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Collect urine, oral fluid, and other laboratory specimens as required.
Verify patient identity and accurately label specimens.
Complete chain-of-custody documentation when applicable.
Ensure proper specimen handling, storage, packaging, and transportation.
Maintain accurate patient and collection records.
Follow OSHA, HIPAA, CLIA, and company policies and procedures.
Prepare specimens for laboratory testing and shipment.
Monitor and maintain collection supplies and inventory.
Provide excellent customer service while maintaining patient confidentiality.
Assist with administrative duties related to specimen collection and processing.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required.
Current Phlebotomy Certification required.
Minimum of 1 year of specimen collection and/or phlebotomy experience preferred.
Experience with urine drug screening collections preferred.
Knowledge of specimen collection procedures and laboratory protocols.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Basic computer and data entry skills.
Reliable transportation and flexibility to travel between collection sites, if required.
