We are currently seeking a Patient Service Representative (PSR) to join CityMD, where the successful candidate will serve as the vital first point of contact for patients. This full-time position offers a competitive hourly wage starting at $18.25, with pay determined by experience and location.
The role of the Patient Service Representative is central to ensuring that every patient who arrives at or contacts CityMD is greeted warmly and provided exemplary customer service. The PSR is responsible for patient registration, managing patient intake efficiently, and coordinating with medical and administrative staff to guarantee timely service and a smooth patient flow. Handling patient inquiries, whether over the phone or in person, with urgency and kindness is essential to this position. Furthermore, the PSR plays a crucial role in managing patient records—including scanning, updating, and filing medical documents—and processing medical insurance information while addressing any related patient questions prudently.
Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills are key for this position, as the Patient Service Representative manages paperwork related to patient registration and ensures all information in the system is accurately entered and maintained. Providers require accurate insurance verification and careful handling of payments such as cash and co-payments, responsibilities that the PSR will also oversee.
To excel in this role, candidates should possess strong verbal and written communication abilities, a welcoming and adaptable attitude, and proficiency in computer use, including keyboarding skills of approximately 55 words per minute. Experience in fast-paced service environments such as medical offices, hospitals, hospitality, or retail is preferred but not required. Multilingual skills are highly valued and may be required depending on the specific site location.
