Job description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Dermatology Medical Biller to join our revenue cycle management team. This Accounts Receivable (A/R)-focused role requires a strong background in dermatology billing, payment posting, charge entry, and extensive follow-up on outstanding claims. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and demonstrate deep knowledge across all areas of medical billing.
Key Responsibilities
Accounts Receivable (A/R) Management
Follow up on unpaid claims and resolve denials efficiently.
Research and appeal denied or unpaid claims using appropriate payer websites and portals.
Ensure timely claim resolution and maximize reimbursement.
Charge Entry & Payment Posting
Accurately post charges and payments to patient accounts.
Reconcile EOBs and identify underpayments or overpayments.
Claims Submission
Prepare and submit clean claims electronically and manually as needed.
Ensure compliance with payer rules and dermatology-specific coding standards.
Software Navigation & Documentation
Work fluently within Modernizing Medicine EMA (a MUST) and at least two other medical billing platforms.
Maintain detailed documentation of account activity and claim resolution processes.
Required Qualifications
Experience:
Minimum of 3 years of dermatology-specific medical billing experience.
Proficient in end-to-end RCM including A/R, charge posting, payment posting, and collections.
Software Proficiency:
Must be highly proficient in Modernizing Medicine EMA.
Experience with at least 3 medical billing software platforms.
Skills:
Strong understanding of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding specific to dermatology.
Excellent skills in navigating insurance portals, clearinghouses, and payer websites.
Ability to work independently and manage a high volume of claims (40+ per day).
Attention to detail, strong organizational and time management skills.
Additional Requirements
Must be able to pass a comprehensive billing knowledge test.
High-speed internet and appropriate home office setup (if remote).
Ability to communicate clearly with team members and clients.
